I guess about, two years ago my wife had fractured some vertebrae through an accident on our farm and she required a stabilization of the vertebrae where they literally glued them back together. The performing surgeon was an expatriate Vietnamese.
Just coincidentally, after the operation, he and I had a conversation and he told me that he had come over as a young boy in 1975. I said well, I was in your country as a soldier several years prior to that. He became very emotional and so did I.
they’re good people
He thanked me profusely for my service in country and I was just overwhelmed with his appreciation for what I had done.
I have a lot of compassion for the Vietnamese civilians and military personnel that immigrated to our country. I think many of them have given a very excellent accounting of the opportunity afforded them and they’re good people.
